Professional Biography
Abner Shifula is an academic and researcher with a strong interest in civil engineering, infrastructure development, and engineering education. His work focuses on geotechnical engineering, sustainable construction materials, and the improvement of infrastructure systems in developing and arid regions. He is particularly interested in the characterization and engineering behaviour of soils and locally available construction materials, as well as innovative approaches to improving pavement performance and durability using recycled materials. In addition to his research activities, he is actively involved in teaching and mentoring engineering students and contributes to discussions on curriculum development, technology integration in education, and the advancement of engineering knowledge to support sustainable development in Namibia and the broader African context.
